Background

Background and Experience

Rhona has a broad background which enables her to work effectively with students from a variety of backgrounds. She graduated Summa cum Laude from DePaul University in Chicago with a Bachelors and Masters Degree. She has had extensive Suzuki training with internationally recognized instructors and recently also became one of the first string teachers in the United States to become certified in the Mark O Connor String Method.

Rhona was chosen ASTA studio teacher of the year in 2008. She is grateful to her colleagues for their recognition.

In addition to her private studio in Skokie, Rhona has been on faculty at Midwest Young Artists since its inception in 1992. Currently she is a chamber music coach and conducts the Reading Orchestra.

Rhona has been fortunate to have had several excellent mentors including Dr. Allan Dennis, Dr. Milton Goldberg, Betty Haag, Dr. Thomas Brown, Thaddeus Kozuch, Terry Spina, Julian Leviton, Rebecca Sandrok, Gwen Furbee Ying, and Milton Preeves.
